ITH Trapunto christmas themed table runner in the hoop quilting

To create the table runner with this purchase you will receive three quilt blocks with two border blocks and instructions to stitch and assemble the table runner. Trapunto is a method similar to applique, but gives a totally different effect. You initially lay batting instead of fabric over placement lines and a design stitches over the top of the batting, you then trim the batting down as close the to the tack down stitches leaving the remaining batting inside the design lines, you then lay a piece of fabric which you intend to use for the top of the quilt block and then continue to stitch the rest of the design out, the machine will stitch the design around the batting first then the last step adds a tight dense stipple stitch around the entire block, this gives the design a puffy 3D effect. You will create your blocks in the hoop but there are some basic sewing skills are required to piece your blocks and assemble your table runner. If you are a complete quilting novice this is an ideal starter project utilising your embroidery and sewing machine, you will learn new skills and get a good feel for piecing quilt blocks, in the hoop quilt blocks are a fun and easy way to learn the basics of quilting, for best results use the size 8×8 or 7×7 blocks to complete the runner. You can also use this design as a standard quilt block and omit the trapunto steps.

you get several sizes of each of the five design blocks to create your runner – 5×5, 6×6, 7×7 and 8×8, you can mix and match the blocks as you wish and you can also create matching placemats using the supplied block designs once you become a bit more confident assembling and piecing blocks.

please note the bow on bauble design differs slightly to that shown on the physical sample, I decided to alter the initial design after a created the sample.
